Whether you need compact indoor coverage or robust outdoor connectivity, our gateways provide seamless installation, superior performance, and flexible deployment options.
What is a LoRaWAN Gateway?
LoRaWAN gateways are networking devices that act as bridges between LoRa-enabled end devices, such as sensors and water meters with an integrated LoRaWAN module, and a central network server. A LoRaWAN gateway doesn’t process any data itself; it’s designed to forward radio packets between the wireless LoRa layer and the IP-based backhaul network. Typically, multiple low-power devices communicate over unlicensed ISM bands to one or more gateways, which then relay those messages via Ethernet or cellular connectivity to the network server for authentication, deduplication, and routing to the application server.
End devices transmit messages that can be received by multiple gateways, and then each gateway forwards the received packets to the network server. Since gateways mainly function as packet forwarders, this system is very scalable by adding additional gateways to extend coverage and increase network capacity without modifying end devices. Due to this vital functionality, LoRaWAN gateways are an essential component in a scalable LoRaWAN-based IoT deployment.

Frequently asked questions
A LoRaWAN gateway receives wireless data transmissions from smart meters and forwards that data to the central data management platform via the internet.
The meters send small encrypted messages over the LoRaWAN network, and the gateway acts as a bridge that relays these messages to the server where the consumption data is processed, stored, and made available for monitoring and billing.
Our LoRaWAN gateways are designed to work together, so our indoor and outdoor gateways work perfectly together. This allows us to support diverse coverage needs and environmental conditions using a single LoRaWAN network.
Our LoRaWAN solution is very scalable and can support large networks with organic growth over time. It’s perfectly suitable for large IoT deployments, even those requiring expansion at a later date, as the LoRaWAN protocol is designed to function even with many thousands of attached devices.
